Tara Faulkner, PhD

Inspired by a powerful mystical experience at the age of 24, I have consistently followed the call of my soul for the past 38 years. Foremost in my mind every step of the way since then have been these questions: “What is my place in the grand scheme of things?” “How can I best be of service?” and “What does it take to be fully alive and happy?” My journey has taken me on pilgrimages to places like Japan, Ireland, Maui, the Yucatan Peninsula, South Korea, Italy, Greece and Sweden (as well as all over the US mainland and Canada), and led to a Ph.D. in Comparative Religion and Women’s Studies from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California (1994). I have also lived and worked at several Buddhist retreat centers in the US and Ireland.

My professional life has included work as an educator, a commercial artist, an independent researcher, a freelance editor and a writer of musings at the intersection of psychology and spirituality. For the past 9 years, I have been immersed in the study and practice of astrology, always with a focus on issues of destiny and the soul’s yearning for fulfillment. Most recently, I served as the CEO of a web-based company whose mission was to help people access their inner knowing through various ancient divination tools, such as the I Ching, Tarot, Astrology and Numerology. I recently moved to Maui, from New Orleans, Louisiana.
